About the role#
As a field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern, you will work directly with project managers and field teams. This role provides a realistic look at full-time construction work. You will contribute to project success through daily coordination and hands-on participation.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers and field teams with project documentation, scheduling, and daily activity coordination.
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project goals and industry standards.
- Track project progress by documenting daily logs, material deliveries, and completed work.
- Participate in on-site meetings to observe real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of RFIs and submittals to keep project milestones on track.
- Observe on-site conditions to help maintain project safety standards.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to support procurement and logistics.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to work full-time.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The role is on-site at project locations in Marshall, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Dearborn, Michigan.
- Internships follow a rolling schedule.
