About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Student, you will manage manufacturing process capabilities to ensure we meet sales demand and forecast requirements. You will work on-site in Guelph, Ontario, in a full-time, paid capacity.
What you'll do#
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing non-value added activities.
- Monitor internal and external quality trends to implement improvements.
- Record and maintain all process instructions, including SPI and SWI.
- Review labour standards to ensure they evolve with product design.
- Demonstrate leadership in the development and implementation of lean initiatives.
- Resolve manufacturing issues and ensure adherence to standard practices.
- Review production trends, such as MOS, DPMO, and COQ, to drive process improvements.
- Promote 5S throughout the organization and provide process training where required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Mandatory experience with AutoCAD or Solid Works.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP software.
- A basic understanding of electronic and electrical circuitry, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- A hands-on approach to demonstrate processes using tools and large equipment.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- A background in magnetic or transformer construction is an asset.
