About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Student for a 16-month internship starting in May 2027. Based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you will report to the mechanical discipline lead engineer and support projects globally. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience within our Project Delivery Group.
What you'll do#
- Complete mechanical and piping engineering design deliverables for various projects.
- Assist with detailed mechanical design tasks.
- Build knowledge of mechanical design applications, regional codes, and industry standards.
- Work within a multi-discipline team to deliver project solutions.
- Support senior engineers and designers by checking deliverables and attending design and quality reviews.
- Participate in site inspections and walkdowns.
What you'll need#
- You are a 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited university.
- You have a strong academic record and participate in extra-curricular or volunteer activities.
- You possess technical experience with mechanical or piping design calculations and modeling software.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You have a solid understanding of engineering and business fundamentals.
- You are a collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Previous co-op or work experience in mechanical engineering design is an asset.
- You must submit a transcript, either official or unofficial, with your application.
