About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at MKS Inc., you will work with Product Marketing, Engineering, and Operations teams. This role supports sustaining engineering activities and product development projects. You will report to the Senior Manager of Product Development during this 3-month assignment.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of reliable products with a focus on cost, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Run tests on prototypes to verify they meet product specifications.
- Analyze test data to make recommendations on next steps.
- Create detail and assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), design review presentations, and test reports.
- Ensure all design documentation follows company standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Practical, hands-on skills gained in a laboratory environment.
- Comfort working with mechanical and electrical hardware.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Location: Milpitas, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 (beginning January 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 days of accrued vacation for those working at least 20 hours per week.
