About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Process Engineer Intern to join the team at the Giant Resource Recovery facility in Harleyville, South Carolina. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role. You will work alongside experienced engineering and operations professionals to support plant performance and reliability.
What you'll do#
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase plant efficiency and reliability.
- Collect and interpret process data to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams on production projects.
- Help troubleshoot process issues and build data-driven solutions.
- Create reports, presentations, and recommendations to share your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems in a practical environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- A safety-focused mindset and a self-motivated approach to learning.

- Location: Harleyville, SC.
- Work Modality: On-site at the manufacturing facility.
- Environment: You will have both office and plant exposure. You must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment while in operational areas.
