About the role#
As a Propulsion Engineer Test Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with high-performance propulsion systems. You will work directly with our team in Jacksonville to support engine and system-level testing. This role involves learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing through active participation in our development efforts.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced engineers to design, set up, and operate test stands.
- Instrument test setups and monitor conditions during active tests.
- Analyze performance data to help with system improvements and troubleshooting.
- Partner with engineers and technicians to refine test processes and improve safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM program at an accredited college or university, specifically as a third or fourth-year undergraduate, or a Master's or Ph.D. student.
- Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles from projects, studies, or previous internships.
- A strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- A strong interest in propulsion systems and testing.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for aviation and the Hermeus mission.

- Location: Jacksonville, Florida
- Term: Fall 2026 (approximately 16 weeks, September through December)
- Commitment: Full-time, on-site
- Compensation: Paid internship
