    About the role#

    As a Propulsion Engineer Test Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with high-performance propulsion systems. You will work directly with our team in Jacksonville to support engine and system-level testing. This role involves learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing through active participation in our development efforts.

    What you'll do#

    • Work alongside experienced engineers to design, set up, and operate test stands.
    • Instrument test setups and monitor conditions during active tests.
    • Analyze performance data to help with system improvements and troubleshooting.
    • Partner with engineers and technicians to refine test processes and improve safety procedures.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a STEM program at an accredited college or university, specifically as a third or fourth-year undergraduate, or a Master's or Ph.D. student.
    • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles from projects, studies, or previous internships.
    • A strong understanding of engineering first principles.
    • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
    • A strong interest in propulsion systems and testing.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Enthusiasm for aviation and the Hermeus mission.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Jacksonville, Florida
    • Term: Fall 2026 (approximately 16 weeks, September through December)
    • Commitment: Full-time, on-site
    • Compensation: Paid internship
    • Note: This position requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls. You must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
