About the role#
As an Avionics Electrical Engineering Intern, you will help build systems for commercial supersonic and hypersonic flight. You will join a team responsible for the design, testing, and integration of guidance, navigation, and control systems, along with electrical hardware, control software, power distribution, and RF communications.
What you'll do#
- Conduct physical testing of subsystems and validate performance against requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed wire diagrams for subsystem integration.
- Set up and configure hardware in lab environments for testing and validation.
- Perform end-to-end subsystem testing to ensure full integration of electrical, hardware, and software components.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
- Document test results, integration procedures, and system configurations.
- Design and test custom electrical systems for ground test and flight applications.
- Ensure the integration and compatibility of your designs at the sub-system and integrated system level.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Entry level experience with C, C++, or other embedded programming languages.
- Experience working with hardware integrations and embedded computers like Raspberry PIs, Arduinos, or STM32s.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Enthusiasm for aviation and the Hermeus mission.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April) or Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly rate between 25 and 33 USD.

- Eligibility: This role requires status as a U.S. person due to U.S. export control compliance.
