About the role#
The Airborne Radar Electronics Design Department at Raytheon is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site with experienced engineers to support firmware development and hardware integration for airborne radar systems. This role involves direct work on hardware used in radar platforms.
What you'll do#
- Support VHDL-based firmware development and hardware integration activities.
- Assist with FPGA development, digital design verification, radar hardware integration, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Help engineers with design, testing, and validation tasks.
- Conduct lab work, including taking measurements, managing test setups, and handling documentation.
- Contribute to various electrical engineering project tasks.
- Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and discussions.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established engineering procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance.
- Experience with C, C++, and MATLAB is preferred.
- Familiarity with HFSS or CST is preferred.
- Coursework or lab experience in RF and microwave engineering is preferred.
- Hands-on experience working on electrical engineering projects.
