    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will join the Synergy and In-Memory Compute hardware engineering team. You will contribute to the mechanical and thermal design of server infrastructure, working alongside electrical and software engineers to develop and deliver hardware into production.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop cost-effective mechanical and cooling designs for server systems.
    • Use CAD software to design sheet metal and plastic components.
    • Design thermal solutions including heatsinks, baffles, and high-performance fans.
    • Apply materials science and mechanical design principles to daily tasks.
    • Modify computer chassis using workshop tools like drill presses, band saws, mills, and lathes.
    • Collaborate with a program team to move designs from concept to delivery.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
    • Ability to interpret Computational Fluid Dynamics reports.
    • Understanding of microprocessor architecture and thermal profiles.
    • Experience with basic electronics testing tools, including soldering and multi-meters.
    • Comfort with OS and software installations, as well as recording data in files.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

    • Location: Spring, Texas.
    • Modality: Hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week in the office.
    • Employment type: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $35.00 - $41.00 per hour.
