About the role#
This is a summer internship based in Downtown Houston. You will gain hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry through project-based work. The role runs from May to August 2027 and is a full-time, on-site position. You will rotate through various accounting and finance departments to build a complete understanding of our business functions.
What you'll do#
- Work on projects to improve operational efficiency and create cost savings.
- Collaborate with team members to implement recommendations and track project impact.
- Support the accounting team with daily tasks like data entry, transaction processing, and reconciliation.
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions to learn about corporate accounting practices.
- Gain exposure to specialized areas including production and regulatory reporting, revenue, royalty and severance tax, accounts payable, joint interest billing, technical accounting, financial planning and analysis, property accounting, joint venture audit, and owner relations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent spreadsheet and data management capabilities.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely.
- Strong motivation and the ability to build effective working relationships with peers and management.
