About the role#
Huawei Canada is hiring an Assistant Researcher for a co-op position lasting 8, 12, or 16 months. You will join the Noah’s Ark lab to work on projects that integrate research into products and services.
What you'll do#
- Research and develop technology in computer vision and machine learning.
- Analyze videos and images using deep learning techniques.
- Optimize algorithms and machine learning models to fit mobile computing constraints.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong software development skills with previous internship experience in C++ and Python.
- A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, specifically data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques like regression, SVM, PCA, and neural networks.
- Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
- Proficiency in Python libraries such as numpy, matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
- Experience with at least one deep learning framework like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with image processing libraries like OpenCV or ffmpeg is an asset.
- Experience with AIGC tools, edge device deployment, Android development, or JNI is an asset.
