About the role#
Huawei Canada is hiring for a Co-op Researcher position in machine learning and computer vision. This is a full-time, paid role based in Markham, Ontario. The appointment lasts between 8 and 16 months.
What you'll do#
You will research and develop new technology in computer vision and machine learning. Your work focuses on video and image understanding and synthesis tasks. You will also optimize algorithms and machine learning models to fit mobile computing constraints.
What you'll need#
- Experience applying machine learning or computer vision to real-world problems.
- Knowledge of basic computer vision concepts and techniques.
- Proficiency in Python and either PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with OpenCV, mobile app development, photo editing software, or generative AI tools like Stable Diffusion or Flux is an asset.
- Academic research experience, such as participation in paper publishing, is an asset.
