About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based at the Hy-Vee corporate office in West Des Moines, Iowa. You will work 40 hours per week from mid-May through mid-August 2027. The role involves working alongside accounting and finance staff to support the financial operations of the business. You will also have the opportunity to visit supply chain and manufacturing facilities, attend department meetings, and participate in company intern events.
What you'll do#
- Complete recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and KPI reports.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering data, building models, and updating financial assumptions.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts.
- Complete ad hoc analysis requests from operational executives to assist with decision making.
- Attend monthly accounting department meetings.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of relevant college education.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in accounting or finance.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
