About the role#
Invenergy offers a 10-12 week internship program during the summer of 2027. This role places interns within various electrical engineering departments to support commercial and utility-scale power projects. You will gain professional experience through hands-on work, networking events, and site visits to power generation facilities.
What you'll do#
- Oversee technical design, evaluation, and construction for energy projects.
- Manage conceptual designs and coordinate with engineering firms to complete final detailed designs.
- Handle engineering, procurement, and commissioning of SCADA systems and communication infrastructure.
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting by reviewing digital fault records, relays, and operational data.
- Collaborate with site personnel, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
- Develop electrical procedures and organize as-built site documentation, including schematics and test reports.
- Perform root cause analyses to identify risks and contribute to corrective action plans.
- Support projects focused on improving operational efficiency and site safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program.
- Major in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Demonstrated interest in the energy sector.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.
