    About the role#

    This is an unpaid internship for the Summer 2026 season. You will work with adults aged 18 and older who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program focuses on implementing daily adaptive bike and recreation sessions. You will work on-site at the Parker Field House, with occasional travel to the Denver office. Your supervisor holds a certification that can be used to meet school requirements.

    What you'll do#

    • Co-facilitate multiple daily bike sessions with the program coordinator and volunteers.
    • Provide supervision and support to individuals in group and one-on-one settings.
    • Help participants learn to use the adapted bikes and ensure their success.
    • Keep organized records to assist in participant assessment and evaluation.
    • Document participant goals and needs to support person-centered outcomes.
    • Organize and maintain program supplies and equipment.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a college or university degree program for Therapeutic Recreation or a similar field.
    • Experience working with individuals who have physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.
    • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
    • Ability to provide quality customer service and maintain a cooperative attitude.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Experience in adaptive sports or recreational programs is a plus.

    • Locations: Parker and Denver, Colorado.
    • Term: Summer 2026 (May through September).
    • Modality: On-site, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid position.
