About the role#
KCI is seeking a Marine Structures Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, New York, or Woodcliff, New Jersey. The internship requires a commitment of at least 10 weeks between mid-May and late August. You will work under the guidance of a dedicated supervisor and mentor to support various marine and waterfront engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with structural design and the development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures like piers, bulkheads, and docks.
- Support project teams with plans, site investigations, surveys, and equipment related to marine engineering.
- Prepare calculations, technical documentation, and project specifications.
- Conduct research, process studies, and materials testing.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on multidisciplinary projects.
- Incorporate feedback from project managers to adjust work products.
- Complete assigned tasks within established project schedules.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
- A valid driver's license.
- No previous professional experience is required.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
