    About the role#

    KCI is hiring a Cost Estimating Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Duluth, Georgia. This full-time, on-site role provides hands-on experience working alongside professional estimators. You will work a 40-hour week for at least 10 weeks between mid-May and the end of August. Every intern is assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor and is expected to participate in planned program activities.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop quantity take-offs and preliminary cost estimates for construction and engineering projects.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed estimates.
    • Maintain cost databases, benchmarking data, and historical project information.
    • Assist with bid preparation, proposal development, and outreach to vendors and subcontractors.
    • Prepare project cost reports, summaries, and related documentation.
    • Work with team members to track budgets and find potential cost savings.
    • Learn to use various estimating tools, software, and industry methodologies.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program, specifically Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • A valid driver's license.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
