About the role#
Xcimer Energy Corporation is hiring interns for a 12-week program in Denver, CO. You will work with a mentor to build hardware and software for inertial fusion energy systems. This role involves contributing to the development of the first commercial fusion energy power plant.
What you'll do#
Interns work on specific projects based on their background and interests. Responsibilities include:
- Mechanical design and hardware development
- Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis
- Systems and manufacturing engineering
- Electrical engineering, specifically pulsed power
- Control systems and computational engineering
- Nuclear engineering, optical engineering, and plasma physics
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field
- Experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom through projects, research, or previous work
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Denver for the duration of the 12-week program
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee
