About the role#
Xcimer Energy Corporation is hiring interns for a 12-week program focused on inertial fusion energy. You will work at our headquarters in Denver, Colorado, alongside an expert mentor. This role involves contributing to the development of hardware and software for commercial fusion energy power plants.
What you'll do#
Your specific tasks will align with your background and interests. Responsibilities include:
- Mechanical design and hardware development
- Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis
- Systems and manufacturing engineering
- Electrical engineering, specifically pulsed power
- Control systems engineering
- Computational and software engineering simulations
- Nuclear, optical, and plasma physics engineering
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field.
- Experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom through projects, research, or previous work.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in fusion energy.
- Ability to work full-time on-site for the full 12 weeks.
