About the role#
Xcimer Energy Corporation is hiring interns for a 12-week program focused on inertial fusion energy. You will work at our headquarters in Denver, Colorado, alongside an expert mentor. This role involves designing and building hardware and software for laser-driven fusion power plants.
What you'll do#
Interns work on specific projects based on their background and interests. Your responsibilities may include:
- Mechanical design and hardware development
- Mechanical and thermal analysis using finite element analysis
- Systems and manufacturing engineering
- Electrical engineering, specifically pulsed power
- Control systems engineering
- Computational engineering and software simulations
- Nuclear and optical engineering
- Plasma physics
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or a related field
- Experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom, such as personal projects, lab research, or prior internships
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in fusion energy
- Ability to work full-time on-site for the duration of the 12-week program
