About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship offers hands-on experience in both Tax and Audit departments. You will work on real client engagements, use the same tools as our full-time staff, and rotate between service areas. The role is a full-time, paid position based in Glen Allen, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Assist on audit engagements across multiple industries, including for-profit and nonprofit clients.
- Perform audit testing procedures such as cash, payroll, and investment testing.
- Prepare and update audit documentation and workpapers.
- Assist with the preparation of individual and business tax returns.
- Input and reconcile trial balances, K-1s, and adjusting journal entries.
- Conduct basic tax research and help with internal tax content.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of an intermediate-level accounting class.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other computer tools.
- Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and sitting for the CPA exam.
- A detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and collaborative mindset.

- Compensation: $30.00 to $32.50 per hour depending on experience.
