About the role#
Kent is hiring an Electrical / I&C Designer Intern to work in Deer Park, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship that follows a rolling schedule. You will perform design assignments that require knowledge of drafting techniques and industry codes. You must be comfortable working on-site as an in-plant resident designer.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering deliverables including CAD drawings, instrument spec sheets, and IO lists.
- Coordinate with team members to research information and finalize drafting packages.
- Update and prepare spreadsheets.
- Verify and update records to support design assignments.
- Ensure all work complies with project and company procedures.
- Keep your supervisor updated on progress and any challenges you encounter.
- Participate in safety meetings and client presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a credited college or technical college with a focus on Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft suite, including Excel and Word.
- Working knowledge of design and drafting technology.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to work on-site at a client location.
