About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Intern in the Substation group, you will contribute to infrastructure projects while gaining hands-on experience in electrical engineering. You will work alongside teams to solve complex challenges and support the delivery of engineering solutions.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing electrical engineering deliverables, including reports, drawings, specifications, and studies.
- Support engineering analyses, designs, and report production.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to schedule and manage project deliverables.
- Organize and evaluate data using computer modeling to analyze systems.
- Manage project materials, references, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Relevant coursework or knowledge in areas such as Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
- An understanding of engineering design principles and guides.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective written communication, and the ability to build professional relationships.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Overland Park, Kansas.
- The work modality for this position is on-site.
