    About the role#

    This internship at Kentucky Educational Television provides practical experience in public media, journalism, and production. You will work alongside professionals to create and promote public affairs programs. This role involves contributing to shows such as Comment on Kentucky, Kentucky Tonight, Kentucky Edition, and News Quiz. This is a paid position that includes an hourly wage and the opportunity to earn two stipends for meeting performance markers.

    What you'll do#

    • Operate cameras in the field and in the studio.
    • Support audio technicians during production tasks.
    • Assist with video editing and the creation of program graphics.
    • Research content, legislation, and other relevant information.
    • Manage guest hospitality and scheduling.
    • Run teleprompters and assist with on-air promotion production.
    • Log and transcribe interviews and video footage.
    • Provide production support in Frankfort and Lexington.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program related to communications, journalism, or political science.
    • Completion of at least 24 academic credit hours.
    • Good academic standing.
    • Strong writing, computer, and communication skills.
    • Ability to commit to at least 120 hours during the semester.
    • Flexibility to work evening hours and travel for work as needed.
    • Ability to handle objects up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for long periods.

    • Modality: On-site at the Network Center.
