About the role#
This internship supports vulnerable children in schools, care centers, and residential homes. You will use your skills to serve the ministry directly on the ground in Guatemala. This is an unpaid position, and interns are responsible for raising funds to cover their expenses.
What you'll do#
- Tutor children in subjects like English, math, reading, and writing.
- Lead or assist with classes in math, art, music, dance, or preschool.
- Facilitate sport clinics for children.
- Assist staff with daily house chores, including cooking, cleaning, and general facility care.
- Provide administrative support in ministry offices.
- Participate in spiritual activities, including devotions and Bible studies.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience working with and providing leadership to children.
- Agreement with the Kids Alive International Statement of Faith.
- Physical fitness to handle the local climate, environment, and manual labor requirements.
- Emotional maturity and high emotional intelligence to adapt to living in an under-resourced country.
- Ability to work well with others, resolve conflict, and work under authority.
