    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures. You will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn foundational skills in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on developing your ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance while supporting safe shop operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the repair and maintenance of tooling, dies, and machine shop equipment.
    • Participate in preventive maintenance tasks and observe corrective actions for mechanical issues.
    • Help disassemble, inspect, and reassemble basic tooling components.
    • Receive training on operating manual machines including mills, grinders, lathes, and drill presses.
    • Practice reading blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Support simple fabrication or modification tasks and use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions.
    • Assist with die setups and changeovers.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while learning safety protocols like lockout/tagout.
    • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a technical program, vocational school, or engineering/manufacturing program.
    • An interest in machining, tooling, or mechanical systems.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude gained through school projects or personal experience.
    • Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment.
    • Willingness to take direction and learn new skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around manufacturing machinery and noise.

    • Location: Brea, California.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
    • You may be exposed to oils, lubricants, and varying temperatures in the shop environment.
    • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be offered based on shop needs.
