About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will support the new product development team at Klein Tools. You will gain practical experience by working alongside engineers to design, test, and improve products. This role involves a mix of hands-on prototyping, data analysis, and collaboration with manufacturing teams to refine our processes.
What you'll do#
- Create 3D prints and handle post-processing for product development reviews.
- Design and build prototypes and test fixtures.
- Submit products to the test lab and analyze results to make recommendations.
- Partner with the manufacturing team to identify process improvements.
- Create or modify basic engineering models and prints.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks and prioritize projects.
Location & details#
- Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $26 per hour.
- Physical requirements: Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, walking, or reaching.
