About the role#
Labcorp is seeking a Molecular Assay Development Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in San Francisco, this role supports the Research and Development team in creating new tests for germline genetic testing product lines. You will work in a laboratory setting to develop and optimize assays, focusing on accuracy, reproducibility, and scalability.
What you'll do#
- Perform molecular biology assays to detect genetic variants.
- Execute experiments for Next Generation Sequencing workflows.
- Maintain detailed, organized records of your experimental work.
- Develop and refine molecular biology assays.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or graduate program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, or Biotechnology.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow established laboratory procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new scientific concepts and laboratory skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
