About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Mechanical Intern, you will work within a multi-discipline team to design, configure, and detail HVAC and piping systems. You will work under the supervision of licensed mechanical engineers to complete design and technical documentation tasks across various project phases. This is a full-time, paid position located in Minneapolis.
What you'll do#
- Perform mechanical engineering design tasks and design calculations.
- Produce deliverable drawing sets, including site plans, HVAC plans, piping plans, controls diagrams, schematics, and schedules.
- Use Revit for modeling and detailing.
- Prepare narratives, reports, and specification documents.
- Assist with construction contract administration and site investigations.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical designers and participate in cross-discipline discussions.
- Attend client and internal meetings.
- Support marketing and business development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program with a mechanical emphasis.
- Proficiency with Revit MEP.
- Experience with load, system sizing, and energy modeling software.
- Understanding of building systems.
- Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Active involvement and leadership roles in extracurricular activities.
- A positive attitude and willingness to participate in a team environment.
