About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Structural Intern at LEO A DALY, you will contribute to the analysis, design, and detailing of structural systems. You will work within a multi-discipline team under the supervision of licensed structural engineers. This role focuses on technical documentation and design tasks that support ongoing projects across all phases.
What you'll do#
- Perform structural engineering design and design calculations.
- Produce deliverable drawing sets, including foundation plans, framing plans, details, and schedules.
- Create Revit models and perform detailing.
- Prepare technical narratives, reports, and specification documents.
- Coordinate designs with Structural Designers and other disciplines.
- Conduct site investigations and observations.
- Attend client and internal meetings.
- Assist with construction contract administration and business development activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering program with a structural emphasis.
- Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of building systems.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to working within a team.
- Proficiency in Revit Structure is preferred.
- Experience with RISA 2d, RISA 3d, RAM, or PCA software is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership or active involvement in campus or community extracurricular activities is preferred.
