About the role#
Ghafari Associates is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Chicago office. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site from May through August. You will work directly with project engineers to support the design and documentation of building systems.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate with engineers during the design phase to determine project data needs.
- Produce 3D models and detailed design documents.
- Make corrections and finalize documents for engineering review.
- Coordinate sections across different disciplines and resolve production problems.
- Participate in team-based problem solving.
- Handle document reproduction and other assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in an engineering discipline.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take direction and show initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
