About the role#
Ghafari Associates is hiring a Structural Engineering intern for a full-time position during the summer of 2027. You will work on-site at our Dearborn or Grand Rapids offices from May through August. This role involves applying design knowledge and software skills to generate engineering documents and digital models under the guidance of project engineers.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Collaborate with engineers during the design phase to determine project data needs.
- Provide limited design input and detail documents based on engineer feedback.
- Make corrections and prepare final documents for review.
- Check for the integration of sections and coordination across disciplines.
- Work with the team to resolve document coordination and production issues.
- Produce drawings and 3D digital design models.
- Use team-oriented problem solving to complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take initiative and follow direction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
