About the role#
Ghafari Associates is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Chicago office. You will work under the direction of project engineers to apply design knowledge and software skills to real-world engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Work with engineers during the design phase to understand project scope and data requirements.
- Provide design input and create detailed design documents.
- Make corrections and produce final documents for review.
- Check for the integration of sections and coordinate across disciplines.
- Resolve document coordination and production problems with the team.
- Produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software.
- Reproduce documents as requested and perform other assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
- Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take initiative and follow direction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.

- Compensation: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, plus paid holidays.
