About the role#
As a Student Nurse Technician at Lifepoint Health, you will provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with daily nursing functions and activities of daily living, with responsibilities tailored to your current level of academic progress. This is a paid, on-site, part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and record vital signs, daily weights, and patient intake and output.
- Perform sterile and aseptic procedures as directed by an RN.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Conduct medication reconciliation and gather patient histories.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, disease processes, and medications.
- Document all data accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Support the care team during emergency situations and maintain patient safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor level nursing program.
- Completion of at least one semester of clinicals in an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with nursing fundamentals in a lab or clinical setting.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
