About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern position reports to the Pharmacy Manager. You will provide quality patient care through medication dispensing and professional services under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role involves maintaining inventory levels and interacting with customers to support their health needs.
What you'll do#
- Provide professional services such as medication reviews.
- Administer vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program, including point of care testing and minor ailments.
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications through friendly and proactive interaction.
- Ensure medication and over the counter supplement inventory levels are adequate to meet patient needs.
- Educate customers through public relations activities like clinics and public health days.
- Resolve patient needs and doctor requests.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Current certificate of registration as an intern with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
- Strong personal computing skills.
- Knowledge of the HealthWatch Pharmacy Computer system is an asset.
