About the role#
We are looking for a Pharmacy Student to join our team in Kirkland Lake. This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will work on-site, supporting our pharmacy operations through automation, inventory management, and prescription preparation.
What you'll do#
- Generate automation reports using Kroll pharmacy management software.
- Package medications into unit dose pouches and manage the automation machine, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Manage automation workflows to meet specific targets and schedules.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory at pre-specified levels, place orders for supplies, and assist with inventory counts.
- Action drug recalls and secure alternatives when products are unavailable.
- Prepare medication orders for nursing homes using automated processes and ensure timely shipping.
- Prepare, label, and package patient medication, including blister packs and mixtures.
What you'll need#
- Post-secondary education in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Experience with Kroll software and pharmacy experience in Long Term Care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude.
- Ability to manoeuvre quickly and consistently for extended periods.
- Candidates aged 18 or older must complete a criminal background check.
