About the role#
The Industrial Engineering Intern role offers practical experience in a manufacturing environment. You will apply your engineering knowledge to real-world projects while supporting our production and design teams. This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, design, and execute engineering projects.
- Provide technical support to engineers and team members through troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, project logs, and reports.
- Conduct research on engineering topics and industry trends to support project goals.
- Develop and design workplace layouts, methods, and new processes.
- Manage project implementation from the initial request to completion.
- Coordinate the creation of technical drawings and installation instructions.
- Assist with quality system audits and analyze data to resolve customer issues.
- Ensure all work adheres to company safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or recent graduation from a Bachelor degree program in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- A strong academic record and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and basic computer tools.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST), welding, and 2D or 3D modeling.
- Preferred: Ability to use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
