About the role#
This is a summer co-op position within the Data Office at Manulife. You will gain hands-on experience in areas such as customer experience, data analytics, and continuous improvement. The role includes access to the GRO early talent program, which provides mentorship and networking opportunities for students.
What you'll do#
- Use analytical skills and critical thinking to understand business drivers and ask insightful questions.
- Apply knowledge of data mining, analysis, visualization, process assessment, and root cause analysis.
- Deliver well-documented solution requirements and present findings clearly.
- Recommend business decisions that drive results and address customer challenges.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and help prepare partners for process changes.
- Depending on the team, tasks may include financial reporting, data management, dashboard creation, risk oversight, or trade processing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university degree program for Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to use data to tell a story and make informed decisions.
- Understanding of the financial services industry, including wealth and asset management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Suite or experience with comparable automation and data visualization tools.
- Ability to work as a collaborative team player with strong time management and communication skills.
