About the role#
This Actuarial co-op position provides exposure to disciplines such as pricing, valuation, modeling, risk management, and asset liability management. You will work within one of our actuarial departments for a 4 or 6 month term. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience and mentorship in a professional insurance environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with your manager and team to set work priorities.
- Complete projects focused on process improvement to increase departmental efficiency.
- Present your results and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Attend internal events featuring speakers from various departments to build your business knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A strong academic record with success in relevant coursework.
- Familiarity with the Society of Actuaries (SOA) qualification process.
- Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to work effectively as a self-starter.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 22, 2027, or January 5 to June 24, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with remote options on Mondays and Fridays).
