About the role#
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience building the data systems that power business insights. You will work with modern tools to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive team, receive mentorship from experienced engineers, and gain exposure to data architecture and analytics in an enterprise environment.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to a team of data engineers focused on building reliable, scalable data systems.
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows.
- Assist with data ingestion, transformation, and preparation for reporting and analytics use cases.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to understand data requirements and support solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Bitbucket.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Preferred: Exposure to data tools like Spark or Databricks, basic understanding of ETL processes or data warehousing, and familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Summer 2027 (April 29 to August 19, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid. You will work in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an expected salary range of $52,650 to $70,200 CAD, pro-rated based on the length of the work term.
