About the role#
This internship at our Augusta facility offers hands-on experience in a commercial biomanufacturing environment. You will work alongside our Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to support process improvement projects, data analysis, and documentation updates. This role helps you apply your engineering coursework to real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with daily manufacturing activities and participate in equipment trials.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis by documenting observations.
- Help with data collection for continuous improvement projects and track project deliverables.
- Create visual management tools, operator reference materials, and workplace organization aids.
- Update standard operating procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Participate in project meetings and provide status updates.
- Follow company safety policies and GMP requirements while supporting quality initiatives.
- Support 5S activities and general workplace organization.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Biological Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Interest in manufacturing, biotechnology, or process engineering.
- Previous internship, project, or laboratory experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts is preferred.
