About the role#
The Silicon Packaging team works at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, optical, and thermal engineering to bring co-packaged optics from concept to high-volume production. You will work on real problems alongside engineers who have shipped products at major semiconductor companies. This role is open to students and recent graduates at all levels, from undergraduate to PhD.
What you'll do#
Depending on your background, you will contribute to one or more of these areas:
- Signal & Power Integrity: Perform high-speed interface analysis for PCIe, UCIe, and SerDes. Work on PDN design, simulations, eye diagrams, jitter, and S-parameters.
- Thermal Engineering: Conduct CFD simulations and evaluate heat sinks, TIM, and liquid cooling solutions. Perform package-level thermal analysis.
- Mechanical & Thermo-Mechanical Design: Execute structural analysis, tolerance stack-up, and FEA. Address GD&T, solder fatigue, and CTE mismatch.
- Packaging Integration: Focus on 2.5D/3D packaging, fiber attach, heterogeneous integration, and assembly yield and reliability.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing or have recently completed a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- You have hands-on experience gained through coursework, capstone projects, research labs, or previous internships.
- You are familiar with at least one relevant tool, such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, ADS, Cadence, Python, or MATLAB.
- You are curious, collaborative, and comfortable asking questions.
