    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship position within the Digital Data Networks business unit. You will work on-site in Webster, New York, during the summer of 2027. The role focuses on supporting the design and characterization of optical connectivity and interconnect solutions.

    What you'll do#

    • Support new product development by assisting with prototype builds.
    • Generate 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
    • Perform optical, mechanical, and environmental testing on production samples and prototypes.
    • Analyze data to validate performance and identify failure modes.
    • Develop and execute experimental plans.
    • Perform root cause investigations.
    • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and supplier partners.
    • Document test results and prepare technical reports or presentations to share findings with the engineering team.
    • Support engineering decision-making.

    What you'll need#

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Current enrollment in or pursuit of a BA, BS, MA, or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Prior internship experience is preferred.
    • Completion of a major project is preferred.
