    About the role#

    As a Resident Engineering Intern, you will work within the Global Automotive Business Unit. You will support engineering and customer programs while gaining hands-on experience with OEM systems, engineering change processes, and customer approvals. This role is based in Troy, Michigan, and operates on a hybrid schedule during the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Map TE connectors to vehicle platforms, architectures, devices, and wiring harnesses.
    • Track OEM vehicle topology, system requirements, product designs, and architecture changes.
    • Support engineering sample preparation, testing, vehicle build events, and pilot programs.
    • Coordinate customer requirements, program timing, deliverables, and engineering changes.
    • Assist with DVPR and Supplier Change Request (SCR) activities.
    • Provide technical support during customer build events and vehicle assembly plant investigations.
    • Participate in issue reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
    • Serve as a first responder to customer technical, design, and quality requests.
    • Collaborate with account managers, product engineers, and OEM approval teams.

    What you'll need#

    • A high school diploma or GED.
    • Current enrollment in or pursuit of a BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S. (We do not provide sponsorship).
    • Equivalent work experience, including gap year students, will be considered.
    • Prior internship experience or completion of a major project is preferred.
