About the role#
Mauldin & Jenkins is seeking an HR Intern to join our team in Metairie or Baton Rouge. This is a part-time position requiring at least 20 hours of work per week. You will support our HR department by assisting with recruiting, employee relations, and learning initiatives. This role offers the chance to gain professional experience within a regional accounting firm.
What you'll do#
- Support campus recruiting initiatives and events.
- Assist with employee relations programs, including DEI efforts, the Women's Alliance, wellness initiatives, and community service projects.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions and CPE content.
- Communicate learning and development information to associates.
- Manage inventory and ordering for recruiting and HR giveaways.
- Collaborate with the HR team on social media campaigns.
- Prepare company announcements and correspondence.
- Research and help develop best practices for culture, talent management, and corporate events.
- Act as an ambassador by sharing information with associates and gathering their feedback.
- Maintain high standards for work accuracy and quality.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a college degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Visme, and SimpleBooklet.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage your time effectively while working independently or in a team.
- Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift 25lb.

- Work is on-site in either Metairie, Louisiana or Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- This is a paid internship at $20 per hour.
- The position is part-time with a rolling term.
