About the role#
Mauldin & Jenkins is hiring an Administrative Accounting Intern for our Columbia office. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling start date. You will work on-site and support our team across multiple departments, including tax, audit, and small business services.
What you'll do#
- Manage the front desk by greeting clients, answering phones, faxing documents, and handling mail.
- Complete post office deliveries and pickups.
- Sort, scan, and upload documents into our software systems.
- Assist with financial statement and report processing.
- Help the small business department with bookkeeping tasks.
- Support the tax department with various projects.
- Assist the audit department with testing and related tasks.
- Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the office manager.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program with a major or concentration in accounting.
- At least 1-2 years of accounting-related study.
- Progress toward CPA exam hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- A flexible, positive, and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with minimal supervision.
- Consistent punctuality and dependability.

- Location: Columbia, South Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Note: You must provide your own housing and transportation. Overnight travel may be required.
