About the role#
Metallus Inc. is hiring a Process Improvement & AI Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Canton, Ohio. You will work within our manufacturing operations to apply data analysis and AI tools to real-world production challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support projects focused on continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Assist with AI and advanced analytics tasks, including data preparation, analysis, and visualization.
- Analyze manufacturing, reliability, and operational data to find ways to improve throughput, quality, cost, and OEE.
- Present your findings and recommendations to the team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university with at least 30 credit hours completed by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
- Preferred majors include Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
- You should have exposure to Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts.
- Coursework or experience related to AI, machine learning, or data science is helpful.
