About the role#
METECS is hiring for a Summer 2027 Software Internship in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site. You will contribute to projects supporting human spaceflight programs or internal research and development efforts.
What you'll do#
- Write software for spacecraft simulations.
- Build and integrate human-computer interfaces.
- Develop flight computer data interfaces.
- Create custom integration tools.
- Design and implement environment simulations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- You have a strong interest in software development.
- You show initiative and an aptitude for hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in a Linux environment and a working knowledge of C++ and Python.
- Familiarity with infrastructure tools for source control, unit testing, issue tracking, and continuous integration is helpful.
- You must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
