About the role#
MetOx International is looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Houston for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site position provides hands-on experience with production processes and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support projects related to superconducting technology.
What you'll do#
- Operate characterization tools including SEM, EDX, Optical Microscopy, and XRD for defect identification and sample preparation.
- Provide hands-on support to process engineers by performing Department of Energy (DOE) tasks and documenting results.
- Conduct statistical data analysis on collected information to support root cause analysis and process metrics.
- Write and publish Failure Analysis reports and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and resolve technical issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a process or manufacturing engineering role.
- Practical experience with characterization tools such as SEM, EDX, Optical Microscopy, and XRD.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like JMP or Minitab.
- A foundational understanding of process engineering principles, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
