    About the role#

    The Business Communications Intern provides administrative and public relations support to the Business Communications department. You will assist in monitoring communication strategies for business initiatives related to the Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center during the 2026-27 NBA season.

    What you'll do#

    • Serve as a liaison and escort media on game and show nights.
    • Compile and maintain media distribution contact lists.
    • Research local and national podcasts across various verticals including fashion, business, sports, and entertainment.
    • Identify new digital media outlets and build professional relationships.
    • Draft press releases and advisories for Business Operations initiatives.
    • Provide trend reports on new PR software, platforms, and services.
    • Use media tracking platforms to monitor earned media.
    • Create weekly recaps on department successes and PR tracking.
    • Conduct competitive analyses comparing the organization against other NBA teams and venues.
    • Assist with general administrative tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current undergraduate or graduate student status, or a completed Bachelor's degree.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
    • Adaptability to changing environments.
